The EOCube.Ro platform provides distributed services across multiple availability zones to ensure optimal performance and redundancy.

Available Zones

UVT-01 (Timișoara)

University of West Timișoara

Primary availability zone hosted at the University of West Timișoara, providing access to computing and storage infrastructure for Earth observation data analysis.

Available services:

• JupyterHub: Interactive computing environment for data analysis and visualization
  • Access JupyterHub
• STAC Browser: Browse and search geospatial data catalog
  • Access STAC Browser

UPB-01 (Bucharest)

University Politehnica of Bucharest

Secondary availability zone hosted at the University Politehnica of Bucharest, providing complementary services and backup for operational continuity.

Available services:

• JupyterHub: Interactive computing environment for data analysis and visualization
  • Access JupyterHub
• STAC Browser: Browse and search geospatial data catalog
  • Access STAC Browser

Zone Selection

After authentication, you can select your preferred availability zone from the menu in the page header. Your selection will be saved and restored on subsequent visits.

How to select a zone:

1. Log in to the EOCube.Ro platform
2. Look for the zone selector (🌍) in the page header
3. Choose your desired zone from the available list
4. Access services through the “Services” menu or the links below

Performance and Latency

For optimal performance, we recommend selecting the zone geographically closest to your location:

• UVT-01 (Timișoara): Recommended for users in western Romania
• UPB-01 (Bucharest): Recommended for users in eastern Romania
